SPOKANE, Wash. — The man suspected of shooting and killing a man in an August road rage incident had videos on his phone teaching people how to shoot from behind the wheel of a vehicle, a Spokane County court commissioner said.
43-year-old Marc G. Rinard made his first appearance in court Thursday afternoon and kept his head down for the entire hearing. He pled not guilty to second-degree murder and first-degree assault.
Rinard is accused of killing 23-year-old Andrew Buonocore at a Spokane Valley intersection on August 18.
Commissioner Eugene Cruz upheld Rinard’s $5 million bond. Cruz also pointed out that investigators found a video on Rinard’s phone teaching people how to fire guns from behind the wheel of a vehicle.
Rinard had his nursing license suspended earlier this month. The Washington State Board of Nursing said he cannot practice as a registered nurse while this court case continues.
A victim advocate for Buonocore’s family read statements in court Thursday. One statement said, in part, “Because of the actions Marc Rinard chose to take, we have no choice but to live without Andrew, who is beloved by so many people.”
