SPOKANE, Wash. — Local children who lost their homes in the Gray and Oregon Road fires last summer were taken on a back-to-school shopping spree thanks to a local non-profit.
Kids were given $150 and taken to the Old Navy in North Spokane where they were able to get new clothes.
One father said the act meant the world to his family.
“It’s a big relief,” said Jeremy Dodd. “To be able to have people help us…it’s a blessing in disguise.”
Dodd’s home was destroyed in the fire and his son was able to pick out new shirts for school.
The Innovia Foundation made a donation the Salvation Army of Spokane to make this event possible.
