SPOKANE, Wash. – Four people have been sentenced to prison for a violent robbery that happened in Downtown Spokane earlier this year.
According to Spokane Police, 27-year-old Rashaud A. Lightner, 23-year-old Chase A. Wilson, 18-year-old Jaeshon W. Farmer and 23-year-old Gerson M. Orellana were sentenced for their roles in the robbery.
The sentencing stems from an incident on March 26 where two people were pepper sprayed on North Wall Street.
SPD said one of the victims walked over to get some money from an ATM while the other victim waited in the car. An unknown man tried to talk to the first victim after they got money out of the machine.
The victim quickly returned to the vehicle but a group of men chased the victim and opened the car door before it could close.
SPD said the suspects then demanded money and pepper sprayed both victims in the car. The victims handed over the money and asked the suspects to stop.
Lightner, Farmer, Wilson and an unnamed minor were arrested that day for the attack. Orellana and two more minors were arrested later in connection with the robbery.
Lightner was sentenced to 60 months in prison for robbery. Wilson was sentenced to 51 months for conspiracy to commit robbery and assault. Farmer was sentenced to 36 months for conspiracy to commit robbery and assault. Orellana was sentenced to 36 months for conspiracy to commit robbery and assault.
SPD said charges for the remaining three suspects are being processed through Juvenile Superior Court.
