SPOKANE, Wash. – A five-time convicted felon was arrested Thursday in connection to a burglary in Spokane County.
According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, 48-year-old Harry L. Autrey was arrested on August 15 for burglary.
The arrest comes from an incident that happened around 10 a.m. August 10 at a home on North Altamont Street.
Deputies said they received a call from a family member of the person living in the home who was on vacation. The caller said she found the back door damaged, and the home ransacked when she checked on it August 10.
SCSO said security video caught two suspects arriving at the home just before 5 a.m. that morning in a white truck with a metal equipment rack in the bed. Both suspects were wearing masks, but deputies were able to get a description of one suspect’s face when he disabled a camera with a crowbar.
Deputies said the suspects stole several items, including a sword, tools, replica guns and two long guns. They also caused around $500 in damage to the door and lock.
On August 13, the Sheriff’s Office saw a truck that matched the description of the truck seen at the burglary. Deputies got a search warrant for the vehicle and took it in as evidence.
Detectives found multiple pieces of evidence in the truck, including bond paperwork for Autrey, who had been spotted driving the truck on two different occasions prior to the burglary.
SCSO said Autrey had 55 arrests, five felony convictions and 22 misdemeanor convictions between 1992 and 2023. The felony convictions were for possessing stolen property, theft, attempting to elude law enforcement, and trafficking in stolen property.
Autrey was booked into Spokane County Jail for burglary.
SCSO said this is an ongoing investigation and more arrests are charges are expected.
