SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Fire crews are fighting a brush fire burning in Spokane Valley on Thursday evening.
The fire is burning near Appleway Boulevard and South Park Road.
As of 6:12 p.m. on Thursday, Spokane Valley Fire Department said the 4-acre fire is completely lined and that DNR is taking over.
SVFD, DNR and Spokane Fire Department worked together to quickly control the fire and keep it from spreading to a nearby mobile home park.
As of 5:40 p.m. on Thursday, Appleyway Boulevard is down to two lanes until South Park Road as firefighters respond to the fire.
Officials are asking the public to avoid the area as they continue fighting the flames.
