SPOKANE, Wash. — A domestic violence incident turned into a SWAT standoff in Peaceful Valley on Wednesday night, according to Spokane Police Department.
Around 9:30 p.m. on August 7, SPD responded to a report of domestic violence near West Main Avenue and North Maple Street.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a victim suffering from physical injuries, including knife wounds.
Police learned the suspect, 37-year-old Brandon T. Bennett, was barricaded inside the victim’s home.
SPD said they were familiar with Brandon and information that he could be violent if approached by police.
Brandon did not respond to initial communication with police, so a SWAT team responded to the home.
Around 12:45 a.m. on August 8, Brandon was arrested by SPD SWAT and booked into Spokane County Jail for second-degree assault, felony harassment and domestic violence.
His bond was set at $200,000.
