The Associated Press officially called Michael Baumgartner and Carmela Conroy as the winners of Washington’s 5th congressional district primary on Wednesday night.
According to the AP, Baumgartner won 28.4% of the vote, while Conroy won 19.6% of the vote.
The two will face-off in November for the soon-to-be open congressional seat, which has been held by Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers since 2005.
Baumgartner, a Republican, currently serves as Spokane County Treasurer and Conroy is the former chair of the Spokane Democratic Party and a former deputy prosecutor for Spokane County.
The two were followed in the primary by Jacquelin Maycumber, who finished with 12.2% of the vote and currently represents Washington’s 7th Congressional District.
