SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Public Schools director Dr. Melissa Bedford announced her resignation from the Board of Directors.
Dr. Bedford said she will be relocating from the area to pursue new opportunities with her family.
The resignation is effective on August 14.
The Board of Directors has 90 days from the resignation date to find a replacement director.
The new director will stay in the position until November 2025, where they can then run for election to serve out the full term ending in November 2027.
SPS said it will share information about the application and interview process at a later date.
