STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. — A Kettle Falls man seriously injured in a crash south of Chewelah last week has died, according to Washington State Patrol.
The crash happened Friday, August 2 around 3:45 p.m. on SR-395 near Bakie Road about seven miles south of Chewelah.

WSP says 51-year-old Martin Drake was not wearing a seatbelt when he crossed the center line and hit a southbound vehicle. Drake was taken to the hospital where he later died.
The two people in the southbound vehicle, an adult and 9-year-old boy, were uninjured.
WSP says the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
This is the second fatal crash on SR-395 near Bakie in the past month. A 6-month-old girl was killed in that crash.
