KELLER, Wash. – Fire crews have been able to make good progress in containing both the Swawilla fire and the Bridge Creek fire.
As of Sunday morning, the Swawilla fire has burned 53,403 acres but is now 85% contained. The neighboring Bridge Creek fire is 100% contained and burned just under 4,000 acres.
Crews previously working on the Bridge Creek fire have been sent to the Swawilla fire area to help with extinguishing fire along control lines and mopping up around homes.
The incident management team assigned to this fire said the town of Keller, the Highway 21 corridor, Mt. Tolman, Buffalo Lake and McGinnis Lake are now in Level 2 (Get Set) evacuations.
The Keller Ferry is also now fully operational.
