GRANT COUNTY, Wash. – Washington State Patrol announced they will partner with other law enforcement in Grant and Kittitas counties to execute a High Visibility Enforcement (HiVE) patrol during the weekend of a popular music festival in Washington.
Watershed is a three-day outdoor concert series that will begin Friday, August 2 and run through Sunday, August 4.
The added patrol is aimed to reduce serious injury and fatality collisions in the area of the festival. WSP and other law enforcement’s primary goal is to contact ‘collision-causing’ violations like drinking and driving or using electronic devices while driving.
Trooper Jeremy Weber with WSP District 6 said they want festival-goers to have fun while staying safe.
“Our message is simple, have fun this weekend, but please don’t make bad decisions that can affect innocent people on our highways,” said Weber.
This is the sixth HiVE patrol out of eight for the year.
