SPOKANE, Wash. — Drivers should be aware of nightly closures of the Hamilton Street Bridge scheduled to begin Sunday, according to the Washington Department of Transportation.
Starting July 28, WSDOT will begin repairs of the State Route 290/Hamilton Street interchange.
Commuters who use the bridge to get to and from I-90 in Spokane should plan additional travel time to avoid delays.
The construction schedule is listed below:
Southbound SR 290/Hamilton Street to I-90 nightly closure
Sunday, July 28, from 7 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Monday, July 29.Monday, July 29, from 7 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30.
Westbound and eastbound I-90 Exit 282 to SR 290/Hamilton Street nightly closure
Tuesday, July 30, from 7 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31.Wednesday, July 31, from 7:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 1.
In addition to the nightly closure of exit 282 on Tuesday, July 30, and Wednesday, July 31, the Second Avenue on-ramp to SR 290/Hamilton Street will also be closed.
Detour route
During the southbound State Route 290/Hamilton Street closure, drivers will be directed west onto Spokane Falls Boulevard to Division/Browne Street to access I-90.
Drivers may also head east on State Route 290/Trent Avenue to the Altamont or Freya/Thor interchanges with I-90.
No signed detour will be available during the northbound and I-90 ramp closure. However, alternate routes include Altamont Street or Freya Street to the east of I-90 and Division Street to the west of I-90.
