SPOKANE, Wash. — The public is invited to attend a Celebration of Life ceremony for former Washington Congressman George Nethercutt at Gonzaga today.

The service will begin at 1 p.m. at the Hemmingson Center. Parking is available at 801 E. Desmet Ave.
A reception will take place following the memorial.
Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown has also ordered flags on city facilities to be flown at half-mass today.
“Congressman Nethercutt grew up in Spokane and went on to proudly serve the people of the Washington 5th congressional district for 10 years,” Mayor Brown said. “I encourage anyone with a flag outside of their home or business to join us in this recognition to honor his memory.”
