COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — Coeur d’Alene Mayor Jim Hammond has announced he is resigning from his position at the end of the summer.
According to the announcement, Hammond is moving to Colorado to be closer to family.
His last day will August 31.
Hammond was elected as mayor in 2021.
The Coeur d’Alene City Council will select a successor to serve out the remainder of Hammond’s term.
“It has been a privilege to work with and learn from you. I am making known my impending departure now to ensure that you have sufficient time to select my successor,” Hammond said.
