PULLMAN, Wash. – Matt Chazanow has been the play-by-play broadcaster for the Washington State Cougars for the last nine years.
But that will now change.
Chazanow will be leaving Pullman to become the voice of North Carolina State Athletics.
He says the uncertainty due to conference realignment did not weigh into his decision.
Chazanow has family in North Carolina and says he couldn’t pass up the opportunity to call Wolfpack games.
Chazanow says one of his favorite memories at WSU was the College Gameday victory over Oregon in 2018.
“There was a lot of national validation that they were getting, like hey you can’t even hear,” Chazanow said. “This place is rocking and Gameday should be here. This team is meritorious of all of these national accolades. That was really special. I remember telling Jerry Kyllo you can mute me I can walk away. We can just listen to this place because it’s really special.”
