SPOKANE, Wash. — If you haven’t started preparing your 2024 taxes, it’s not too late to start. Libraries throughout Spokane are offering free resources to help your filing go smoothly this year.
For help with filing your 1040 forms, which allow you to file your annual income tax return, all Spokane Public Library locations have free 1040 instruction pamphlets available.
For in-person help, Spokane County Library District is offering free tax filing assistance through AARP. For a list of service locations, click here. Most sites require an appointment, which can be booked by calling 509-353-4851. Please note, Spokane Public Library locations do not have on-site tax assistance.
The IRS said it expects to receive more than 140 million individual 2024 tax returns this tax season.
The federal deadline to file your 2024 taxes is April 15, but they can be sent in early, anytime after January 27.
