SPOKANE, Wash. – Whether you like it or not, winter months and frigid temperatures are just around the corner.
S.N.A.P Spokane is organizing a community clothing drive to collect warm clothes for those in need.
On Saturday September 14, the non-profit will host the Second Annual Pajama Party on the patio of Brickwest Brewing in downtown Spokane.
Attendees are encouraged to bring warm clothes like socks, gloves and hats to donate. There will also be activities to enjoy like face painting, petting zoos, food and music from a local DJ.
This event, which runs from 3:30 to 8:00 p.m. is geared for everyone in the family – whether you’re young or young at heart.
“It’s going to be the best kind of pandemonium,” Nicole Bishop, philanthropy manager at S.N.A.P said. “We encourage people to show up in their pajamas on the day of the event. It’s supposed to be a fun, cozy, family friendly event that we really think garners community collectiveness.”
In addition to the party games, attendees can also enter in the ‘Cozy for a Cause’ raffle, which will giveaway prizes like Scarywood tickets, an overnight trip to Mirabeau Park.
Bill Powers from Brickwest Brewing says this is one of his favorite events of the year.
“I feel like we’re really lucky with the space that we have here, right in downtown Spokane to have this amazing patio area that’s just sort of built for community events and engagement,” Powers said.
