TYLER, Wash. — Firefighters are getting the Columbia Basin Fire under more control as containment has grown and evacuations remain downgraded.
According to the Department of Natural Resources, the fire has burned about 252 acres and is 20% contained.
DNR says firefighters will focus on interior hazards, secure lines around the perimeter, and address any hotspots today.
DNR adds approximately 100 people evacuated at the fire’s peak.
